My name is Dani-Lyn Alexander, and I live on the south shore of eastern Long Island with my husband and kids. I enjoy spending time with my family, at the playground, the beach or pretty much anywhere else. I love shopping, especially in book stores. I write sweet romance and YA fantasy, and I also work as a freelance editor.
What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
Hmm…that’s a hard question. Lol. I think my favorite part to write was the scene where Ryleigh has to make a decision whether to forsake everything she knows and lead her people into an uncharted realm, possibly losing Jackson forever, or stay in Cymmera and fight a battle they have no real hope of winning. I enjoyed having to be so deep in Ryleigh’s mind, trying to be sure I was true to her character while making the decision.
Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or is it purely all imagination?
No, it’s purely fantasy.
How different was this book to write than the previous books in the series?
This book was actually very different from the first two. It introduces an entire new realm, as well as new characters. It also wraps up most of the storylines I began in the first two books. Since it is the final book in the trilogy, I wanted to make sure my readers had answers to any questions they might have developed over the course of the series.
Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Believe in yourself. It’s not always easy in a profession where rejection is such an integral part of the process, but you have to believe in yourself and your story. That’s said, it’s also important to have an open mind and be willing to accept constructive criticism and learn everything you can.
Is there anything you would like to say to your fans or readers?
I would love to say thank you for sharing my journey with me. Writing is not an easy process, but every time I read a positive review, or hear from someone who enjoyed reading my books, it makes it worth all of the hard work.
Thank you so much for having me. I’ve enjoyed visiting!
