I think women are the strongest creatures on earth.  It takes a lot more internal strength to open yourself up to nurturing those with whom you come in contact – because of the risk of being hurt – than it does to plow over anything in your path.  Or to disregard everyone in your way.  And women, overall, are nurturers.

In Becca’s Baby, My Sister Myself, and White Picket Fences, you’ll find three very different women.  Different physical builds, different personalities, different wants and needs.  And yet I admire all three of them for their strength.  Becca is a rich and successful business woman with no children.  She’s the Mayor of Shelter Valley!  Doesn’t get much more powerful than that.  And yet…she’s herself vulnerable beyond belief when she faces an unexpected pregnancy at forty-two.  She has to be strong enough to make some very tough choices.

Tory, in My Sister Myself, is a little sister.  The needy one.  The one who was always taken care of.  By her older sister Christine, mostly.  Tory’s neediness leads her to fall prey to a rich older man who promises to take care of her.  He abuses her, too.  And when Christine comes to the rescue, he stages a car accident to kill Tory.  He kills Christine, instead, but he doesn’t know that.  What Tory does next takes more strength than she ever thought she had…

In White Picket Fences, Randi Parsons knows she’s strong.  She’s an athlete.  And the women’s athletic director at the university in Shelter Valley.  (Her big brother, Will, is the University President, and also Mayor Becca’s husband.)  Randi is too strong and independent to do something so…feminine…as to fall in love.  Growing up the youngest in a family of boys, dealing with competiveness and injury, they’ve made her into a woman who doesn’t realize she has a softer side.  Until a new vet comes to town with problems of his own.  And Randi has to find out if she’s strong enough to be a woman…

I hope you’ll open yourself up to the strength these women have to share with you.  I’m pretty sure you’ll be glad you did…
